Mortality figures demonstrate need to get virus under control � use lockdown to fix test and trace

The latest ONS mortality figures for COVID-19 demonstrate the need to take immediate action to curb the spread of the virus and avoid even more loss of life, but lockdown is a blunt instrument for a complex problem and the period must be used to fix test and trace, the NHS Confederation has said.
